Like Loretta Lynn, I was born a coal miner's daughter, lived in an old stone house in the farm country of southwestern Pennsylvania. I was in the choir of our church where we sang those old time classic christian and gospel songs and hymns. At home (before TV) we had only the radio to listen to and it was always tuned to traditional country and christian music, mostly Wheeling and Nashville ( when we could get it), both well known country radio stations at that time. Our family moved to the city of Canton, Ohio when I was in my teens but I never lost my love of country and christian music.
